Writing Your First Queries

Before submitting your first queries in Betintel.ai, it is essential to follow best practices to ensure clarity and accuracy. Misinterpretations can lead to incorrect results, so structuring queries properly helps achieve better insights.

Be Explicit in Querying

  • Avoid vague queries like "Show customers from Spain". Instead, write "Show customers from country Spain" to prevent misinterpretation.
  • When specifying a time frame, structure it clearly:
    • Correct: "Show total NGR for the year 2023"
    • Correct: "Show total NGR for the current year"
    • Correct: "Show acquisition sources and conversion rate for last month where acquisition source is not [Organic]"
    • Avoid: "Show total NGR for 2023"

⚠️ Text enclosed within [ ] is not interpreted as a keyword, ensuring it does not affect query processing.

Formatting Queries with Time Periods

  • Queries relying on a specific period should follow a natural sentence structure:
    • Correct: "List playerIds of my active customers last month who are not active this month"
    • Correct: "List all customers with NGR greater than 5000 in the year 2023"
    • Avoid: "List all customers that in 2023 generated more than 5000 in NGR"

Using Multiple Sentences for Complex Queries

  • Complex queries are supported and encouraged. Writing queries in multiple sentences improves clarity and structure:
    • Example: "Show the total number of active players this year, group by month. Only include players from country Italy."
    • Example: "Show the top 10 performing btags by conversion rate in the last 7 days. Show conversion rate as a percentage to 2 decimal places. Include count of signups and count of FTDs for the same period."
    • Example: "VIP = players with casino NGR more than 1000 in the past 6 months. Which of my VIPs have not logged in in the past 30 days?"

Recommended Predefined Queries & Keyword Assistance

  • Predefined queries are suggested based on the keyword(s) entered.
  • Industry-standard keywords such as RTP, NGR, casino wagers, and acquisition source (including variations) are available.
  • To see sample questions, enter a keyword in the query area. A list of recommended and recent queries will be displayed, helping users discover common queries.
  • Interpretation highlights occur in real time while typing.
  • Alternative keyword suggestions appear below the query field, aiding in keyword selection and query accuracy.

Keyword Interpretation & Customisation

  • Keywords are highlighted in orange and display definitions or interpretations when hovered over.
  • If a keyword is missing, request a new keyword via the Missing Keyword link below the query area.
  • Keyword requests are reviewed periodically, and new terms are added as needed.
  • Keywords have default interpretations, which are usually industry-standard. In cases where a different interpretation is required, adjustments may be considered on a brand-specific basis.

Query Submission & Monthly Limits

  • Each query submission counts toward the monthly limit.
  • Frequent queries should be saved as reports instead of being repeatedly submitted.
  • Saved queries allow users to access insights without incurring additional query costs.

By following these best practices, users can create more effective queries, optimise results, and make the most of their available query limits.
